A BIG Brother houseguest has landed himself in hot water behind the scenes and is now being ‘monitored closely’ by production due to his behavior, The U.S. Sun can reveal.
While the contestant still remains in the Big Brother Season 28 house, the insider made it clear that if a line does get crossed, the matter would be dealt with “promptly” – and a full removal is on the table.
After a wave of backlash over comments and online behavior that many viewers called out for being “homophobic,” fans and Big Brother alumni alike have demanded Kamu Kirk be removed from the show.
Kamu was caught on the Paramount+ live feeds making controversial remarks about drag – which sparked fury after fans also dug up “homophobic” social media posts he had allegedly liked before joining the show.
His latest comments and online behavior caused for a slew of Big Brother fans and alumni, including Frankie Grande, calling for his removal.
An insider told The U.S. Sun that CBS executives are closely monitoring the contestant’s behavior on live feeds but for now, he remains in the game.
“Production is aware of Kamu’s social media activity and they are not happy with the comment he made that a lot of people are perceiving as anti-drag,” the source exclusively claimed.
“They hear the feedback loud and clear. Because of that, they’re monitoring Kamu more closely than the other houseguests.
“They’re making sure he stays in line and his comments are not offensive more so than the other contestants because some of the things he’s said already have raised some red flags,” the insider alleged.
They stressed, however, that it doesn’t mean he’s already done.
“That being said, there is no active discussion currently about removing him from the show.
“If they feel he does violate the code of conduct or crosses the line, they will handle it promptly.
“If he takes it far enough, he could be kicked out. But so far, they feel he has not done enough to be removed from the show.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to CBS for comment.
The warning comes after Kamu found himself at the center of one of the biggest controversies so far of Big Brother 28.
During a conversation captured on the live feeds, Kamu reacted to fellow houseguest Drew Campbell wearing Mallory Aurichio’s unicorn pajamas.
The dress up sparked Survivor alum Rick Devens to ask Kamu: “Are those dudes dressed in women’s clothes?”
Kamu replied that it was, and said that they also asked him to wear a pair of the colorful garments.
“I was with them, I’m like, ‘I’m not doing that, bro,’” Kamu proudly proclaimed.
“I said, ‘Bro, miss me with the drag stuff. Miss me. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold,” he added.
The pair then referenced cast mate Jason De Puy – who performs in drag as Salina EsTitties and competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race – and was also in the house at the time.
The clip quickly spread across social media, with many fans accusing Kamu’s comments of being “anti-drag” and “homophobic.”
Former Big Brother star Frankie Grande was among the loudest critics, initially calling for both Kamu and Rick to be removed from the game – before later clarifying he wasn’t certain Rick’s intentions were fully negative.
Ariana Grande’s brother wrote that “men behaving in a repulsed or shocked way when a man dresses feminine or in women’s clothing is homophobic. Period.”
The backlash only intensified after fans uncovered several social media posts Kamu had allegedly liked before entering the house.
Screenshots circulated online appeared to show the MMA fighter liking posts criticizing Pride events and sharing anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, leading many viewers to question whether the live-feed comments reflected his real-life views.
Outraged fans flooded social with calls for CBS to step in, as one viewer wrote: “I BEG you CBS, get Kamu out of that house!”
Another posted: “Kamu can shove his homophobia.”
A third fan added: “I feel so bad for Jason that he’s surrounded by this energy. So unfair. Get Kamu out of there!”
Others defended Kamu, arguing that declining to wear drag or women’s clothing should not automatically be viewed as homophobic.
Despite the growing controversy, the source said production believes Kamu has not crossed the threshold that would warrant immediate removal – yet.
For now, executives are instead keeping a closer watch on his behavior as the season continues, with any future comments or conduct expected to receive heightened scrutiny.
