Cameron Diaz, 53, recently welcomed her third child with husband Benji Madden, but in an honest admission just days prior, she shared the pressure of being an older mom. Diaz spoke candidly about her fears of raising children when other mothers she knows are “literally 20 years younger.”

In a heartfelt interview, the actress revealed how becoming a mother at 47 made her more focused on staying healthy and aging well. The couple, married since 2015, are already parents to daughter Raddix, 6, and son Cardinal, 2, both born via surrogacy. Their new arrival, Nautas Madden, was announced on social media with a joyful post from Benji. Diaz and her husband expressed their excitement and gratitude for their expanding family.

Despite the joy of welcoming a new baby, Diaz reflected on the challenges of motherhood later in life. She admitted that her age compared to the other mothers she knows has been on her mind. “The women who have children my age are literally 20 years younger,” she shared, acknowledging the unique position she finds herself in. “And that’s totally OK – but I want to feel vital like that for my child.” Diaz, however, reassures fans that she is committed to making the most of her time with her kids.
Additionally, Diaz opened up about her past feelings toward Botox and cosmetic treatments. She revealed that she stopped using Botox years ago and now embraces natural aging. “I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all,” she said, emphasizing her shift towards self-acceptance.
She also credited her close friend, Gwyneth Paltrow, for encouraging her to become a mother, something Diaz admits she wasn’t initially sure about. The two have been supportive of each other as they navigate their careers and motherhood.
Now back in Hollywood, Diaz is filming the movie The Sham and is set to reprise her role as Princess Fiona in the upcoming Shrek movie. Despite her successful career and newfound focus on motherhood, Diaz remains committed to living life fully, embracing both challenges and blessings.
