On March 10, 2026, Craig Melvin’s son, Delano, hit a major milestone as he turned 12 — and his proud parents couldn’t help but reflect on how fast the years have flown by.
In a heartwarming joint Instagram post, Craig and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, shared glimpses from the birthday celebrations, including a photo of Delano enjoying a festive dinner with his family. Delano, beaming with joy, was pictured with his mom, who wore a fun birthday crown, and his 9-year-old sister, Sybil (aka “Sibby”). The family’s cozy dinner captured the love and joy of the special day.
The proud parents added a touching caption, which read: “A friend of mine said ‘don’t blink,’ and she’s right. Here we are — at 12! We are grateful for every moment (and every hug) with this crew. Happy birthday to the incredible kid we adore and who made us proud parents one sunny Sunday in March of 2014.”
Fans flooded the comment section, sharing their well wishes for the birthday boy. One follower wrote, “It’s unbelievable how fast the years pass!!! Enjoy and cherish as much as you can! Happy 12th birthday to your son 🎂”, while another added, “Happy Birthday Buddy. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us Craig.”
Delano, who has appeared on TODAY alongside his father, has become a familiar face to viewers. In 2022, he interviewed Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with Craig. The following year, Delano joined his dad to chat about Craig’s new book, “I’m Proud of You”, and even interviewed him on air. In a sweet moment, Craig shared, “I wanted to write a book that celebrated fatherhood. That celebrated you. That celebrated your sister. That celebrated, like, just being a parent. And I wanted to write something that you would enjoy.”
Delano’s bond with his father has been evident over the years. In 2025, he, along with his sister and mom, supported Craig on his first day as TODAY co-anchor. When reflecting on his dad’s new role, Delano said, “He’s a great dad and he deserves to be here.”
Time really does fly, and it’s clear Delano has grown up fast — a fact his parents are cherishing with every passing moment.
