Dolly Parton has shared an emotional update on her health after being forced to cancel her six-date Las Vegas residency, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum. The 80-year-old country legend admitted she has been battling ongoing issues with her immune system and digestive health, and is undergoing treatment to regain her strength.

The iconic singer, known for her bubbly personality and philanthropy, explained that she’s had “problems with kidney stones” for years. But over the past three years, her immune and digestive systems have been “all out of whack,” requiring treatment and rebuilding.

“I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day,” Dolly shared with her millions of fans on social media. “But, the bad news is, it’s going to take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level.”

She humorously added that some of her treatments have left her a bit “swimmy-headed,” a term her grandmother used, acknowledging that it’s hard to perform with dizziness while carrying around musical instruments on five-inch heels.
Despite these health challenges, Dolly remains optimistic, emphasizing that the “good news” is she’s making progress, thanks to her great doctors. She assured her fans that everything is treatable, and she’s doing her best to focus on recovery.

Though she has to take it slow for now, Dolly’s not slowing down in her work. She promoted her theme park Dollywood, her upcoming Nashville museum/hotel, and the Broadway musical Dolly: A True Original Musical, which is set to open in the fall/winter. “I am still working. I still do videos, I still record,” she said with a smile, adding that her work keeps her busy even through the tough times.

Dolly also took a moment to thank her fans for their outpouring of love and support after the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, in 2025. “The holidays, especially our wedding anniversary, and the day of his death on March 3, that was hard for me,” she shared. “But you would be surprised how much your love and concern meant to me during that time.”
In addition to her personal health struggles, Dolly continues to give back. Last month, she made a massive donation to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, TN, so significant that the facility was renamed in her honor as the Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital.
As a true country music icon, Dolly has sold over 100 million records, broken 10 Guinness World Records, and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Her dedication to her fans and her charitable work remain steadfast despite her personal challenges.
