Dylan Dreyer took a brief break from Today earlier this week, and fans now know the heartwarming reason why. The meteorologist missed the Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9 episodes of the show, with cohosts Laura Jarrett and Savannah Sellers filling in, before returning on Wednesday, June 10, alongside Al Roker and Craig Melvin.
Sharing on Instagram, Dreyer revealed she spent the start of the week enjoying a fun getaway with longtime friend Anne Allred. “Here’s your sign to book that little trip with your best friend that you keep saying you’re going to get away with! Your heart and soul will thank you!” she wrote, posting snapshots of their adventures at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia.
The photos show the friends hiking, visiting the Warm Springs Pools, playing golf, and enjoying meals together, capturing the joy of a well-deserved break. Fans quickly flocked to the comments to celebrate the getaway, with one noting, “You so deserve this! A great recharge, I’m sure!”
Dreyer and Allred have been friends for years, meeting while working together at NBC Boston’s WHDH, before Allred moved to KSDK in St. Louis. Their friendship has endured, with memorable moments including a 2019 Stanley Cup bet, where Dreyer honored a playful challenge by singing “Gloria” live on Today, delighting cohosts and viewers alike. :max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(770x327:772x329)/dylan-dreyer-instagram-tout-051324-827d9ed9eaad43bebdca4cab10799c25.jpg)
This recent trip underscores the importance of self-care and cherishing meaningful friendships, even amid the demands of a busy broadcasting career. For Dylan Dreyer, stepping away briefly wasn’t just a break—it was a celebration of connection, laughter, and the simple joys of life.
