The popular GB News presenter had been in good health just days prior to the devastating health scare. Pictured with his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 44, at an Easter party, Eamonn appeared in high spirits as they raised a glass together, completely unaware of the life-altering event soon to come.

Images from the celebration showed Eamonn in his mobility chair, dressed warmly in a navy coat and matching suit trousers, laughing and chatting with friends, including Lotan Carter, a former reality TV star turned fitness coach. These photos were shared widely on social media, showing a man full of joy and life, moments before everything changed.

However, on Saturday, it was revealed that Eamonn was rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed to have suffered a stroke. He is now recovering in a ward, and his colleagues and fans are wishing him a speedy recovery.

In a heartbreaking post, Katie shared her emotions online, expressing how difficult the past week has been. “What a week,” she wrote. “Prayer, a little visit to church to have a word with the good Lord himself, prayer each day.”

Eamonn had been scheduled to return to his GB News breakfast show on Monday, but now, his return remains uncertain as he focuses on his recovery.

This health crisis comes after a turbulent period in Eamonn’s personal life, including a separation from his wife of 14 years, Ruth Langsford, in 2024. The couple, who share a 24-year-old son, Jack, are in the process of divorcing.

A spokesperson for GB News shared the news of Eamonn’s stroke, stating, “He is currently responding well to treatment. Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better. We look forward to welcoming him back when he’s ready.” CEO of GB News, Angelos Frangopoulos, also expressed support, saying, “Eamonn is a loved member of the GB News family, and we’re with him every step of the way as he recovers.”

Eamonn’s health struggles are not new. In 2016, he underwent a double hip replacement. Then, in 2021, he suffered three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis, which led to major spinal surgery the following year. These ongoing health issues have made his recovery journey a tough one.

A recent incident on-air, where Eamonn appeared to have fallen asleep while interviewing Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Darren Jones MP, raised concerns. Eamonn, however, clarified the incident, stating he was simply trying to fix his microphone. He responded to critics during an appearance at a London event, joking about the situation, saying, “Apparently I was sleeping? Whatever!”

For now, Eamonn’s fans are hoping for a swift recovery, and his return to the screen remains on hold as he focuses on healing.
