Fiona Phillips’ Husband Shares Heartbreaking Alzheimer’s Update: “We Can See Her Slipping Away”

Former GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips is facing the most difficult chapter of her life, and her husband, Martin Frizell, has now spoken with heartbreaking honesty about the devastating reality of living with Alzheimer’s disease.

During an emotional television interview, the former This Morning editor admitted that watching the woman he has loved for decades slowly disappear has become an unimaginable daily heartbreak.

“We can see her slipping away,” he said, describing the cruel progression of the disease that has transformed life for their entire family.

A Family Watching Memories Fade

Fiona, now 65, publicly revealed in 2023 that she had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s after initially believing her symptoms—including brain fog, anxiety and confusion—were caused by menopause.
