Gladiators star Giant, also known as Jamie Bigg, has revealed that viewers are “disgusted” by his sudden departure from the popular BBC show following his relationship with OnlyFans model Taylor Ryan. Jamie, 40, who recently spoke out about his dismissal, claimed he was let go due to his romance with the adult content creator, and accused the network of lying about the circumstances surrounding his exit.

In a new interview, Jamie hit out at Gladiators producer and Hungry Bear boss, Dan Baldwin, who is married to This Morning host Holly Willoughby. According to Jamie, Baldwin criticized Taylor’s career as a “child safeguarding risk,” which led to the decision to cut him from the show. Despite the controversy, Jamie has revealed that many parents have expressed support for him, with some even telling him how upset their children are about his exit from the family-friendly program.

Jamie went on to say that there was nothing in his contract preventing him from being in a relationship or publicly discussing his personal life. “I’ve had a lot of messages from parents saying their children are so upset that I’m leaving the show,” Jamie explained. “The response from the parents has made it really clear that it was never going to be an issue.”

Despite the backlash, Jamie revealed that he had informed Gladiators bosses that he was planning to publicly confirm his relationship with Taylor, but was told shortly after that his contract would not be renewed for the fourth series. “They said they needed to explore avenues and have conversations, and despite having a positive third series, I was told my series four contract wasn’t renewed because of this relationship,” Jamie said.

In a statement, Jamie also mentioned how the BBC had cited “child safeguarding” as the reason for his dismissal. However, Jamie remains unclear about the exact details of why he was let go. “It wasn’t explained – I think you’ll have to ask them. My dismissal has been very unclear. We have to get our side across,” he added.
Jamie also addressed the rumors surrounding his recent personal life, including his divorce from his ex-wife Katie and the subsequent backlash from some over how quickly he moved on from their 13-year relationship. “Finding out about a new relationship so soon has been a shock,” Katie wrote on social media, acknowledging her pain at the speed of Jamie’s new romance.
Despite the drama surrounding his departure, Jamie remains focused on the future. “I’m grateful to the BBC and everyone involved in the show for the opportunity and the experiences I’ve had. Now, my focus is on the future. I’m excited for what’s next and ready to move into a new chapter, both personally and professionally,” Jamie said.
In the official BBC statement, Gladiators announced Jamie’s exit, writing, “After an incredible run, Giant’s journey on Gladiators has come to an end, but what an adventure it has been. Giant has always inspired confidence and kindness in others, proving he is a true giant, not just in strength, but also in spirit.”
Despite the controversy, Jamie is determined to move forward and embrace his new chapter in life, both professionally and personally.
