Angry Ginge has revealed the extraordinary findings behind the fire that devastated his mother’s home — and the apparent cause is something even he struggled to believe.
The online star, whose real name is Morgan Sam Lee Burtwistle, says investigators believe one of the family’s cats may have accidentally switched on the kitchen hob while nobody was home.
Something was then apparently knocked onto the heated surface and caught fire, triggering a blaze that spread from the kitchen into other areas of the property.
The home was left severely damaged, but the family suffered an even more heartbreaking loss: their beloved pets.
“It’s actually like something out of Tom and Jerry,” Ginge said while explaining the investigation’s findings to his followers.

At the time of the fire, Ginge’s mother was away from home while he was involved with Soccer Aid.
According to his account, investigators believe a cat jumped onto the hob and accidentally activated one of the cooking zones.

Either way, nobody was inside to notice what was happening.

Ginge also explained how investigators apparently identified the likely starting point.
The hob had four cooking zones, but one side was significantly more fire-damaged than the others.
That evidence reportedly led investigators to believe the blaze had originated there.
For Ginge, the explanation sounded almost too bizarre to be real.
“It’s mental,” he said, again comparing the circumstances to something from a cartoon.
Yet behind the extraordinary explanation was a very real family tragedy.
The family lost far more than a house
Ginge later returned to the property and showed followers some of the extensive damage.
But while possessions and parts of a home can eventually be replaced or rebuilt, the most painful consequence was the loss of the family’s pets.
That heartbreak gave the tragedy an entirely different emotional weight.
Since the fire, Ginge’s mother has reportedly been staying with him as the family attempts to move forward.
The incident has also shown a very different side to the streamer, who is normally known for his humor, football content and energetic personality.
