It wasn’t a highlight reel moment — it was a human one.
On the latest episode of New Heights, Travis Kelce opened up about the Kansas City Chiefs’ crushing season and did something no stat sheet can capture: he apologized to lifelong superfan Paul Rudd.
“As a brother and a Chiefs fan, I love you… I’m sorry,” Kelce told the Ant-Man star, after asking how he was holding up amid playoff elimination and swirling retirement rumors.
Rudd, ever loyal, didn’t point fingers. Instead, he sent love right back.
“I’m thinking about you, brother,” the actor replied, revealing he’d already texted Travis to check in.
Rather than dwell on the disappointment, Rudd reflected on the golden years — five Super Bowl appearances in six seasons, three rings, and memories shared with his son.
“It’s been an embarrassment of riches,” he said softly. “This wasn’t the year, but that’s okay. Someone else gets to feel what we felt.”
Kelce smiled through the emotion — a man carrying both the weight of a season lost and the uncertainty of what might be his final year in the NFL.
With quarterback Patrick Mahomes sidelined by a season-ending ACL tear and the Chiefs now facing the Broncos on Christmas Day, the locker room is hurting — but the heart of Chiefs Kingdom is still beating.
“We’ve got three games left,” Travis vowed. “We’re going to give you everything we’ve got.”
Because sometimes, even legends need to say sorry.
