Jeremy Clarkson, 66, has opened up about the harrowing year that nearly cost him his life — and how he’s bouncing back with his signature wit intact.
After suffering excruciating chest pains at his Cotswolds home, the former Top Gear star revealed he was literally “days from death.” Rushed to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, doctors discovered a completely blocked artery and successfully inserted a life-saving stent.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast, Clarkson joked about his recent “fat jabs”: “I look like a Lowry painting,” while assuring fans, “I’m absolutely fine now. Tickety-boo!” Despite the humor, he reflected on the struggles of running Diddly Squat Farm: long days alone, no income coming in, and the immense pressures modern farmers face.
Clarkson also spoke about The Hawkstone Choir, which began as a fun project for adverts and has grown into a source of solace amid the farming chaos.

Fans can catch the fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime, premiering June 3, with Clarkson teasing it as “the most dramatic one of the shows we have done so far,” promising escalating tension all the way to the final episodes on June 17.
From near-death scares to navigating the harsh realities of farming life, Clarkson’s year has been nothing short of extraordinary — and his candid reflections, peppered with humor, are a stark reminder that even stars face real-life challenges.
