Fans of Clarkson’s Farm are in for an emotional ride as the new fifth season reveals Jeremy Clarkson’s dramatic health scare. The 66-year-old TV presenter, who nearly passed out while filming, had previously disclosed in October 2024 that he underwent urgent heart surgery after being warned he was just days from a life-threatening event.

Rushed to hospital, Clarkson had a stent fitted to clear his arteries, and viewers will now witness the frightening ordeal unfold on-screen. The season 5 trailer, released on 18 May, shows Clarkson hooked up to electrocardiogram (ECG) wires in hospital before speaking to farm hand Kaleb Cooper: “You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping. My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”

The episodes also follow Clarkson’s return to public life, including delivering a speech at a farmers’ protest in London, despite medical warnings to rest. Fans can expect laughs and chaos too, as Clarkson experiments with a driverless tractor — only for the technology to promptly fail.

Tragedy also strikes his farm, with new restrictions imposed and a heartbreaking cull of the first calf ever born at Diddly Squat after it contracted bovine tuberculosis. Clarkson, who bought the farm in 2008 and began running it in 2019, has documented his journey with previous seasons becoming Amazon Prime Video’s standout hit.

Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm premieres on 3 June, with Clarkson already confirmed to return for a sixth series.
