Julia Bradbury, beloved Countryfile star, has shared an emotional update on her ongoing health challenges, revealing that she is still fighting endometriosis after her battle with breast cancer. In a candid interview, the 55-year-old TV presenter opened up about how her diagnosis has changed her perspective on life and health – and why she’s determined to take charge of her well-being.

It’s been five years since Julia’s breast cancer diagnosis, and the journey since then has been one of recovery, self-care, and lifestyle changes. Julia now prioritizes self-care like never before, focusing on a wholesome diet, regular exercise, meditation, and practicing gratitude. “I want to make sure that I’m in the driving seat, rather than responding to crises,” she says. 💪
But her health journey didn’t stop with cancer. Julia also suffers from endometriosis, a condition that causes debilitating pain and has no cure. She recalls the severe impact the condition had on her life and explains how it led to a significant surgery that kept her away from work for six weeks. “Endometriosis can result in chronic pain and be debilitating to women,” she reveals.
The Test of Time:
Julia recently had an MRI to check on her pelvic health, which had been affected by the endometriosis. Feeling “slightly anxious” about the scan, she was relieved when the results showed that her womb was in good condition. However, she remains vigilant about her health, continuing to undergo regular check-ups.
A New Approach to Life:
Living in London with her partner Gerard Cunningham and their three children, Julia has adopted a “clean eating” lifestyle and exercises regularly, ensuring she gets at least 10,000 steps a day. “I completely changed my diet,” she admits, cutting out gluten and alcohol, and focusing on foods that help reduce inflammation in her body. 🌱
But her health journey has not been without its frustrations. Julia recalls being dismissed by some healthcare professionals who were uninterested in her suggestions about lifestyle changes. “I remember them rolling their eyes when I wanted to talk about my diet,” she says. “But now, I trust my instincts more than ever.” 💬
Fighting for Women’s Health:
Julia is deeply concerned about the gender health gap and the lack of research into conditions that predominantly affect women. “Women are underserved in the medical world,” she says, adding that women often have to wait longer for diagnoses and treatments.
Despite the ongoing challenges, Julia maintains a positive outlook. “Cancer saved my life in so many ways,” she reflects. “Since that day, I’ve viewed every morning as a blessing.” 🌟
New Beginnings:
Julia is continuing to thrive with new projects, including her latest ITV series, Julia Bradbury’s Wonders Of The Frozen South. “The experience was phenomenal,” she says of the series, sharing her passion for exploring and sharing new experiences with her audience.
