Kate Garraway was left visibly uncomfortable as she was grilled about her former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield during an interview on a new BBC celebrity show. The Good Morning Britain presenter appeared on the comedy sketch series What Have You Done?, hosted by Lucia Keskin and Jamie Bisping, where she was asked a series of lighthearted yet probing questions.

The show, which features the hosts quizzing celebrities about their biggest regrets and wildest dreams, saw Kate join the pair for a pedal boat ride in the first episode. The conversation quickly turned to her ITV colleagues, including Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, before the focus shifted to the controversial figure of Phillip Schofield.

Schofield, who stepped down from This Morning in 2023 following an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger employee, has been at the center of media scrutiny. During the interview, the hosts jokingly asked Kate if she had ever shared a vape with Phillip, referencing a Lost Mary brand vape. Kate’s discomfort was evident as she shifted in her seat, replying with a simple, “No, I haven’t.” The hosts continued, laughing, “We have once. It was completely accidental.”

But things took an awkward turn when one of the hosts, Chi, mentioned: “Then he gets fired from This Morning,” prompting a silence from Kate and a series of uncomfortable facial expressions.

Fans of the show were quick to praise the line of questioning, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express their admiration. One fan wrote: “Love how she tried to hold it together,” while another said, “One of the best questions anybody has ever asked.”

Schofield’s departure from This Morning was a result of his affair with a younger man who worked on the show. The relationship came to light after Schofield admitted to misleading ITV and the public about the affair. The scandal caused a rift between Schofield and his long-time co-presenter Holly Willoughby, with their friendship falling apart in the wake of the revelation.

In his statement, Schofield explained that while the affair was consensual, it was “unwise” and “not illegal,” but ultimately cost him his job. He expressed deep regret for his actions, including the lies he told to protect himself and the pain caused to his family. Schofield also revealed the emotional toll the scandal had on him, admitting that he had experienced suicidal thoughts and was supported by his daughters during his darkest moments.

As the media storm surrounding Schofield continues, Kate Garraway’s candid appearance on the BBC show highlighted the lingering tension surrounding his departure from This Morning.
