Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway, 58, has made a subtle yet powerful change that’s turning heads: she’s moved her wedding and engagement rings from her left hand to her right. This significant shift comes just weeks after reports of her growing closeness to broadcast journalist Liam Halligan, 56.

The change comes in the wake of her emotional experience filming Celebrity Traitors last year, an experience Kate has described as “transformative.” The rings, given to her by her late husband Derek Draper, were removed during a challenge on the show, and since then, Kate has worn them on her right hand every day in memory of Derek, who tragically passed away in January 2024 due to complications from Covid.

A representative for Kate shared with The Sun on Sunday: “Kate had to remove her rings during a challenge she undertook for Celebrity Traitors and since then wears them on her right hand every day in memory of Derek.”
Meanwhile, Liam Halligan recently opened up about his blossoming relationship with Kate, telling The Sun: “I’ve known Kate for years and we’ve recently become close. We laugh a lot and really enjoy each other’s company. It’s very early days, but there is a definite spark between us and we’re both excited to see what happens.”
Kate herself has expressed that she’s open to romance again, saying, “I wouldn’t like to think that I’d never had romantic love in my life again. I think that would be rather a sad way to go through life, wouldn’t it? But, no, I’m not there yet. I don’t know if anybody would want me.”
As Kate navigates these new chapters in her personal life, fans are left wondering what’s next for the beloved GMB star – could there be a new love on the horizon? The changes to her rings speak volumes, and there’s clearly more to her story than meets the eye.
Stay tuned as Kate’s journey continues to unfold. ❤️
