Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had a humorous moment on Live when they jokingly called out their daughter Lola Consuelos, 24, for the messy state of her room.
Lola had recently returned to their New York City home from London to support her younger brother, Joaquin, in his Broadway debut in Death of a Salesman. While the parents were happy to have her back under their roof, they weren’t exactly thrilled with the chaos in her bedroom.
“I looked at her, and I’m like, ‘You’re leaving our house. Why is this stuff here? What is all this?'” Mark Consuelos, 55, said. Kelly Ripa, also 55, added that while she understood Lola wouldn’t be staying long, she still hoped her daughter would clean up a bit before leaving. “I kept hoping that she would, at some point, go into her closet and take some of that with you or donate it,” Ripa joked.
The state of Lola’s room was so out of hand that Ripa gave her daughter a “tough love” suggestion: to clean it up every night for a week.
While the messy room was clearly a point of frustration for her parents, Mark jokingly warned Lola that her habits might affect her future family life. “What I said to her was, ‘You’re going to be responsible for younger people, theoretically, at some point. So, you need to get this under control, or you’re gonna raise a bunch of this,'” he recalled. Lola, ever the smart aleck, responded, “Dad, it’s 6:30 in the morning. You’re talking to me about my kids?” :max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(742x368:744x370)/Lola-Consuelos-Cassius-Kidston-042825-4-41d06239028d44dc84cc7137f5523f6e.jpg)
Despite the minor frustration, the parents made it clear they were thrilled to have Lola back, even with the mess. “She is a net asset, that child. She walks into a room, and everything gets more fun,” Ripa said with a smile. Mark added, “Just don’t walk into her room.”
The couple, married since 1996, also has two other children: son Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 23.
