Kerry Katona, the Atomic Kitten singer, has revealed she was rushed to A&E after experiencing frightening stroke-like symptoms. The shocking health scare occurred while she was in London, attending a play where her eldest daughter, Molly, was performing. During the event, Kerry’s daughter, Heidi, noticed that something wasn’t right with her mother’s face.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Kerry shared the terrifying moment when her daughter pointed out, “Mum, what’s wrong with your face?” She began to panic as her condition worsened, prompting her to discreetly leave the performance and head to her hotel. There, she sought immediate medical attention, telling staff, “Something’s not right.” Celebrities Attend The Beauty Awards 2025 In London - 24 Nov 2025

Kerry was then rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, where doctors immediately suspected a stroke. “They were treating this as a stroke,” Kerry explained. “They blue-lit me in an ambulance from St Thomas’ to King’s College Hospital while they shone lights in my eyes. My face and speech were getting worse. Just an hour ago, I was watching Molly in a play, and now I’m being treated for a stroke. It was so surreal.”

Thankfully, after a CT scan, the stroke diagnosis was ruled out, but the experience left Kerry shaken. She revealed that the incident was likely triggered by “delayed stress” that can affect a person after they’ve “found peace.” She also explained that her symptoms, including difficulty with speech and facial expression, might return at any time.

Despite the health scare, Kerry was determined not to let it keep her down. After the hospital visit, she jetted off to Spain with her family to celebrate her son Dylan-Jorge’s 12th birthday. Although Kerry has been advised to undergo follow-up care, including speech therapy, she remains positive about her recovery.

In a more personal update, Kerry also shared how she has found happiness with her new partner, Paolo Margaglione, 12 years her junior. “Paolo is just a complete one-off,” she said. “I never thought I’d meet someone like him. He makes me feel loved and wanted, and that’s something I never realized I was missing. I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend, but I found someone who’s completely different, and it’s changed my life.”

The terrifying health ordeal hasn’t stopped Kerry from moving forward, and she’s now focused on her recovery and the future with her new partner. Kerry’s story serves as a powerful reminder of how quickly things can change, but also how strength and love can help overcome the toughest challenges.
