Kerry Katona was seen enjoying a sun-soaked yacht trip in Marbella, her first public appearance since being rushed to the hospital after a suspected stroke. The 45-year-old Atomic Kitten singer was on board with her boyfriend Paolo Margaglione, 33, and two of her children, including her rarely seen son Maxwell, to celebrate his 18th birthday.
Kerry, who is preparing for a move to Spain later this year, showed off her toned and tattooed figure in a tiny thong bikini while soaking up the sun. Her vibrant two-piece left little to the imagination as she enjoyed the day with Paolo, who went shirtless while packing on the PDA with Kerry.
This holiday came after Kerry admitted the hospital scare had left her fearing for her life. Speaking about her health scare for the first time, she recalled how her daughter, Heidi, noticed something was wrong when they were watching Kerry’s eldest daughter Molly in a play. “Heidi was like, ‘Mum, what’s wrong with your face?'” Kerry said, adding that she began to panic. Kerry discreetly left the theatre and asked to see a doctor at her hotel, but after a four-hour wait, she took a taxi to St Thomas’ Hospital.
Upon arrival, doctors told her they were treating the situation as a stroke and immediately rushed her to King’s College Hospital in an ambulance. “I was watching our Molly in a play, and now I’m being treated for a stroke. What the actual f**k? It just shows how quickly things can change,” Kerry recalled.
Doctors ultimately ruled out a stroke, but
Kerry was told a part of her brain was struggling to send signals to her face due to stress. Despite the relief, she was left shaken, especially after texting all her children, fearing she might never speak to them again. “It really, really scared me,” Kerry said. “I texted all my children and told them I loved them. I’ve never been so scared in my life.”
Kerry’s health issues began after she noticed her facial muscles weren’t working properly, and she was having difficulty speaking. CT scans showed no signs of a stroke, but doctors attributed the problem to stress, saying the facial and speech issues would improve with therapy.
Despite the health scare, Kerry continued to enjoy her family vacation, including a stroll through the swanky streets of Marbella with Paolo and her children. Her 18-year-old son Maxwell, who is the focus of the family celebration, was also seen enjoying the special trip with his family.
Kerry shared that the couple’s getaway was the perfect opportunity to celebrate Maxwell’s birthday, and she expressed her joy in spending time with her loved ones. She was also seen smiling and laughing with her daughter Heidi, 19, as they posed for a photo together.
In addition to the relaxing trip, Kerry and Paolo have faced challenges this year. Earlier, she revealed that she had suffered two miscarriages with Paolo after unexpectedly falling pregnant while filming Celebs Go Dating. The couple began their relationship during filming in 2025, and Paolo revealed that he discovered Kerry was pregnant when he “smelled it on her.” Although the couple initially found out they were expecting, they suffered two miscarriages in quick succession.
Despite these hardships, Kerry and Paolo are clearly enjoying their time together, with Kerry glowing in the warmth of both the sun and the love of her family.
In a heartfelt moment, Kerry shared how she has been leaning on her family and Paolo for support as she navigates this new chapter in her life. She’s also planning to move forward with speech therapy and facial exercises to help with the effects of her health scare. “It’s not easy, but I’m getting better,” she said.
This yacht trip, which allowed Kerry to unwind and celebrate family, marks a new beginning for the singer after a tough few months. Her fans continue to wish her strength and support as she recovers from her health scare and prepares for the exciting next chapter in Spain.
