Lisa George, the actress famously known for her role as Beth Tinker on Coronation Street, has opened up about her incredible transformation. At 55, Lisa has stunned fans with her remarkable three-stone weight loss and a major cosmetic procedure that cost her £8,000.

Lisa revealed how the saggy skin that was once around her eyes left her feeling 'so down' so she went under the knife and had an £8k upper blepharoplasty and a brow lift

The actress, who is almost unrecognizable from her Weatherfield character, revealed she underwent upper blepharoplasty and a brow lift to address sagging skin around her eyes. For years, Lisa had been struggling with the skin around her eyes, which would cover her entire vision when she squinted or smiled, leaving her feeling “so down.”

“I’d look like I was frowning,” she shared, “and it made me feel so down.” After deciding to take control of her appearance, Lisa said the surgery has given her newfound confidence, and she now feels much more positive about her appearance.

Lisa’s weight loss journey has also been a deeply personal one. After facing issues with her stomach and being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, she struggled with her weight and faced cruel trolling. One decorator even told her she “looked massive on telly,” leaving her feeling ashamed of the weight gain she experienced during menopause.

However, Lisa took matters into her own hands and, after being placed on a low-FODMAP diet, she lost a significant three stone. “As soon as I hit my fifties, and menopause hit, I just piled it on,” she admitted. “But once I followed the diet, the weight just fell off, and I was so mad at myself for not doing it sooner.”

In addition to these physical changes, Lisa has also been grappling with a genetic eye condition known as NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy), which causes sudden vision loss. Despite this challenge, Lisa remains positive, saying, “I’m just grateful I can still see, but we don’t know what the future holds.”

Lisa’s eye troubles started in 2016 when she suffered an accident while gardening, which caused her to lose sight in her right eye. After a series of medical tests and consultations with specialists, Lisa found out the damage was permanent. “Luckily, my left eye was good with 20/20 vision, but the sight loss in my right eye will never return,” she shared.

Lisa now plans to undergo a lower facelift to address sagging skin under her chin, determined not to “grow old gracefully with great big bin bags.”

Her journey of transformation, from battling health issues to her surgeries and weight loss, has been nothing short of inspiring.
