In a makeup-free video, Lorraine thanked everyone for their well-wishes: “Hi there, just want to say thanks for the get-well wishes. I’m feeling a whole lot better. But this has been a bad lurgy, and if you’re going through it yourself, you have my sympathy. It’s a tough one, but I am getting there.”

Why is Lorraine taking such a long break? 🤔

“I will be off for a good few weeks,” Lorraine explained. “Not because I’m not well, but because of course, the changes to the show. We now do 30 weeks a year, so I won’t see you for a wee while. But I want to thank you for sticking with me through all the changes. I hope to see you when I’m back on air. I never take it for granted, and I really, really, really appreciate you tuning in. Thanks so much.”

Lorraine signed off with a heartfelt message: “THANK YOU for sticking with me through all of the changes to the show and for your kind messages. I will be back soon and really looking forward to your company. Thanks to my top team and crew, and all of the lovely guests who come on Lorraine to share their stories. I will miss you but see you real soon.”

The post received an outpouring of love, with famous faces like Doctor Amir Khan, Amy Dowden from Strictly, and Susanna Reid from Good Morning Britain commenting, sending their well-wishes to the beloved host.

What’s going on with ITV’s schedule changes?

On Friday, March 6, 2026, viewers were shocked by ITV’s decision to pull both Lorraine and Loose Women off the air for weeks. The shake-up means Good Morning Britain now airs continuously from 6am to 10am, followed by This Morning from 10am to 12:30pm. This shift removes Lorraine from the schedule for weeks at a time, and Loose Women will also be on a break.

Christine Lampard, stepping in as host, informed viewers that Lorraine would be back in a few weeks, and Kaye Adams of Loose Women added, “It’s your last Loose Women for a few weeks, but we’ll be back next month!”

This isn’t the first time Lorraine’s show has been affected by ITV’s schedule overhaul. Last year, it was announced that Lorraine would only be on air for 30 weeks a year, with her usual 9:30am to 10am slot now taken over by Good Morning Britain for 22 weeks. This has led to huge cuts, including the loss of regular presenters and job cuts across ITV Daytime.

The shake-up leaves many wondering what’s next for Lorraine’s career.

Will Lorraine return after her break to continue captivating fans, or will ITV continue to shake things up? Fans are eagerly waiting for her return, but it’s clear that significant changes are afoot at ITV.
