MEGAN MAY NOT BE GONE FOR GOOD đŸ˜±đŸ”’ CORRIE VILLAIN TEASES A RETURN THAT COULD LEAVE FANS FURIOUS!!!

Just when we thought we’d seen the last of monstrous Coronation Street villain Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

The twisted villain could be making a dramatic return to the Cobbles in the near future, which would no doubt send shivers down the spine of her victim, (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).

Megan first arrived in Weatherfield last year, as the seemingly respectable athletics coach who used her position of authority to groom Will into an illicit and exploitative relationship – right under the nose of his unsuspecting family, step-mum Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), dad Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) and grandmother Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn).

The months that followed saw Megan manipulate Will into keeping their trysts under wraps with a careful combination of carrot and stick – love-bombing him one minute and withdrawing affection the next, like when she began a relationship with headmaster Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) merely for appearances.

All the while, Will believed he was in an abusive relationship, with no idea that abuse was taking place.

Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), of all people, was the first to see Megan’s true colours. But the schoolboy sleuth’s investigations and eventual exposure of the paedophile’s crimes came at a serious cost to his mental health. Megan did everything she possibly could to bully and harass Sam, pushing him towards a mental breakdown.

This led to Sam’s lioness of an adoptive mum Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) teaming up with her sister Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and Eva to find the evidence to bring the monster down. Unfortunately, Megan was always one step ahead.

Not even Will’s seriously scary Granny Maggie could vanquish the predator. After Maggie violently shoved Megan while she was pregnant with Will’s child, the wicked Miss Walsh claimed that the assault caused her to lose the baby when in fact she had undergone a secret termination.

The scales eventually fell from Will’s eyes thanks to the only person in Weatherfield with the first clue of what he’d been going through all this time – Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine). Right before Will planned to flee to Paris to be with Megan – a promise which she had no intention of fulfilling – Tim was able to make Will see the light thanks to his own similar experience of being taken advantage of by an older woman as a child. Thanks to Tim, Will found the strength to report Megan to the police, which led to the predator being slapped in cuffs.

This brings us to last week’s trial, which was a nerve-wracking affair to say the least. Things got off to a terrible start when Will fell apart on the stand and claimed that he had made everything up about them being in a sexual relationship.

Not only that, but Ben’s temper jeopardised the trial after he had an angry outburst in court during Megan’s questioning, which resulted in him getting thrown out. Suddenly, the prospect of Megan’s conviction seemed very grim indeed.

Fortunately, the judge knew that Will had lied under oath, and allowed him to testify a second time. This time, he told nothing but the truth and told the whole court how she sexually and psychologically abused him.

Will’s moment of truth. (Picture: ITV)

Then came the moment Corrie fans had been waiting for – the jury found Megan guilty of all changes and sentenced her to five years in prison. She was last scene being taken down from the dock, screaming that Will was lying, protesting her innocence and vowing to appeal.

Will Megan manage to manipulate her way out of prison? Very possibly, according to her recent interview on the Inside Soap podcast.

When questioned about whether Megan might reappear on screen in the near future, actress Beth Nixon was intriguingly cryptic: ‘We’ll see, we will have to wait and see!’

but will she worm her way out of jail? (Picture: ITV)

The star was also questioned about whether she’d consider returning to play Megan from prison. Beth responded: ‘I’d love to. Any opportunity to come back I would always come back. I mean I loved it so much. I cried so much on my last day!’

‘But yeah I’d love to come back. It’s such a fab place to work and I felt so blessed to have been given that storyline because there was so much in it.

“I was trusted with so much material and I like to think hopefully that people have enjoyed the storyline. So yeah, I’d love to see Megan in prison that’d be great.”

How will Megan handle life behind bars? Fans already heard in Wednesday’s episode of Coronation Street that she’d been involved in a prison brawl offscreen. Discussing how Megan might cope with being in a cell 24/7, Beth explained: ‘She’s obviously very manipulative and she’s always able to worm her way out of situations but there’s a real broad range of personalities that are going to be in prison with her.’
