Kelsey, who has been transparent about her grief, revealed the toll losing Tom took on her, but also shared the strength she found to keep going—both for herself and their two young children, Aurelia and Bodhi. Speaking on the Cbeebies HQ Parenting Helpline podcast, she shared with listeners, “Your pain is never going to go away. What you learn to do is live around your pain.”

Even through her darkest days, Kelsey still finds the strength to rise each morning, continue being a mother, and face the world. “I am grieving, and I am getting out of bed because I have no other choice,” she said, proving the determination she’s found in the face of unbearable sorrow.

The pain, however, hasn’t stopped her from recalling the difficult day Tom passed. She said, “I told the kids, I need to go to the hospice to make sure the angels come for daddy today.” That moment, she explained, marked the painful acceptance that Tom was never coming back.

Despite her grief, Kelsey continued to care for her children, never allowing her sorrow to hinder her motherly duties. “Mummy, can you make me breakfast?” they’d ask. Kelsey never let them see the weight of her sorrow, instead pushing through to be the mother they needed.

Kelsey’s journey through grief has been one of unimaginable pain, yet filled with a deep sense of love and resilience. She’s proven that despite the darkness, hope and love can still endure. Kelsey has recently found love again with tree surgeon Will Lindsay, though she has made it clear that Tom will always be the love of her life.
