Three years after his highly publicised scandal, Phillip Schofield has received public support from longtime friend Darren Day, who insists: “The Phil that I know is a good man.”
Schofield, who left This Morning in 2023 following the revelation of an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague, has kept a relatively low profile since. But Darren, speaking to MailOnline, revealed he recently saw Phil at a party with Ant and Dec, noting: “Phil and I have been mates for a long time… we had a lot of fun times together.”
Darren criticised the abrupt end to Phillip’s career, calling it “a massive career to have taken away”, and praised his friend’s character, emphasising the human side of a star often judged harshly by the public.
Phillip himself has opened up about his life since the scandal. Living quietly in a Victorian home in Chiswick with his family and dog, he describes himself as “content” and “happy”, embracing a drama-free life while keeping a low profile. “The past few years were utterly brutal… I’ve got used to my new life and I’m content with that and happy,” he said.
This glimpse into Phillip’s renewed personal life, alongside public support from friends like Darren, gives fans a reminder that even in the wake of controversy, trust, loyalty, and friendships endure.
