Richard Osman, the beloved host of House of Games, has revealed he is stepping down from the popular BBC quiz show after a successful nine-year run. The 55-year-old presenter shared an emotional statement, expressing his joy in hosting the show but also his desire to hand over the reins to someone new.
“It has been such a great pleasure, and an honor, to present House of Games for the last nine years, with the absolute best team in television,” Osman shared. “But it’s time to let someone else have a go, and I’m very excited to hand over the House keys to the lucky new host!”
Osman, who has been a staple of the show since its debut in 2017, will continue to host the ninth season before passing on the torch. The show, which features celebrity contestants competing in a series of knowledge-based games, has become a fan favorite, with recent episodes attracting millions of viewers. 
Though the BBC has not yet revealed who will take over as host, the network has promised “exciting plans” ahead. The announcement has left fans buzzing, eager to know who will step into Osman’s shoes.
Tamara Gilder, joint MD of Remarkable Entertainment, praised Osman’s impact on the show, saying, “We are incredibly grateful to Richard for being the most brilliant host for the past nine series, and we will miss him so very much.” 
Meanwhile, BBC daytime boss Rob Unsworth added, “Richard Osman has established House of Games as one of our best-loved shows. His contribution to its success is impossible to overstate, and we couldn’t be more grateful for his work over the last nine years.”
Osman’s departure marks a new chapter for the beloved quiz show. Will the new host be as big of a hit as Osman was? Only time will tell.
