Ryan Seacrest, the 51-year-old media mogul, has opened up about his dating preferences two years after his breakup with Aubrey Paige. In an emotional and revealing segment on On Air With Ryan Seacrest on April 6, Ryan shared what he looks for in a romantic partner, including both red flags and green flags that give him a glimpse into someone’s true character.
“I believe simple things tell a lot about a person,” Ryan explained to his co-hosts Tanya Rad and DJ Sisanie. He revealed that one of his key red flags is how a potential girlfriend treats strangers, especially when out on a run, walk, or bike ride. “Do you say hi to people that pass by? If you don’t, I’m not sure about you,” Ryan admitted. “And if someone says ‘good morning’ to you and you don’t respond, that’s a red flag.”
Ryan also confessed, “I take everybody out for a little exercise. It’s a test.”
In his playful yet insightful conversation, Seacrest also shared his take on green flags, joking that a woman who doesn’t already have a boyfriend is definitely a green flag. Additionally, Ryan explained that one of his personal green flags is someone who enjoys a cup of coffee just like he does. “I really look forward to getting up and having my coffee. If we can’t share that moment together, it’s a red flag,” he said. He also added, “So, ‘I need coffee’ is a green flag. Don’t put milks and stuff in it—just black coffee.”
The star later humorously mentioned that he had been on the dating app Tinder during a Wheel of Fortune episode, jokingly saying, “I’ll be on Tinder tonight, so I can find it.”
This candid moment comes two years after Ryan’s amicable split from his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Aubrey Paige, with whom he had dated for three years. Sources close to the couple revealed that they mutually decided to part ways in April 2024 but planned to stay in each other’s lives as good friends and continue supporting one another’s endeavors. The couple went public with their relationship in May 2021, but rumors about their breakup started swirling in December 2023 when Paige posted a Christmas photo with her family, with Seacrest nowhere to be seen. Additionally, Paige did not post a birthday message for Seacrest when he turned 49 on Christmas Eve.
