Scarlett Moffatt has revealed the emotional rollercoaster behind her second pregnancy, admitting she took 11 pregnancy tests before believing she and fiancé Scott Dobinson were expecting again. The 35-year-old TV star feared she might never have another child after a previous miscarriage “quite far along” left her devastated.
Now, Scarlett and Scott, already proud parents to son Jude, are overjoyed to be welcoming a baby boy. “It felt so overwhelming,” Scarlett shared with The Sun. “We are honestly so thrilled, especially for Jude. I never thought we’d be able to give him a little brother… I’m just over the moon!”
The former I’m A Celebrity star previously opened up to Sinitta about her fertility struggles, recalling the heartbreak of losing a pregnancy after Jude’s birth. “Scott’s mam and dad took Jude for the day, and we just laid in bed crying,” she revealed. “You’re mourning a life you imagined… it was awful.”
Scarlett and Scott are now preparing for a slightly different family dynamic. Scott is taking a career break from his police role to support the family at home—a trend gaining momentum in the UK, with stay-at-home dads up 30% over the past decade.
“I’m born to be a boy mum,” Scarlett told The Mirror, sharing her wish for another son. “Of course, a healthy baby is all that matters, but giving Jude a brother was my hope. He’s going to have someone to share his life with now.”
The star shared her joy on Instagram in April with a heartwarming snap of the family, joking about her pregnancy cravings: “Grated cheese, cheese toasties, cheese scones… did I mention cheese?” She also confirmed her bump appeared early, around 14 weeks.
Despite the excitement, Scarlett admitted her first trimester was tough. “For those saying I’m glowing, the first trimester was HELL,” she wrote, describing mini-sicknesses, hot and cold flushes, and migraines.
Announcing the pregnancy alongside a video holding her ultrasound, Scarlett gushed: “We honestly can’t believe we’re writing this… After everything, we feel unbelievably lucky. One little miracle gave us Jude, and now he’s going to be a big brother. Our hearts are fuller than we ever thought possible.”
Scarlett, who previously detailed a challenging four-year fertility journey before welcoming Jude in June 2023, now looks forward to celebrating the arrival of her second son with hope, love, and a grateful heart.
