Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly are returning to their reality TV roots in a heartwarming bid to raise £4.5 million for Prince William’s homelessness charity, Centrepoint. The mother-daughter duo is teaming up for a special Omaze campaign, celebrating The Osbournes TV show by offering a £5 million mansion in a prize draw.
Kelly, 41, shared: “I said I’d only do this if the charity side was really meaningful. I wanted Omaze to match the value of the house, and they pretty much have.” She added, “I think William will make an amazing King and I really hope he’s pleased with the donation. That amount will completely change the face of the charity.”
This will be Centrepoint’s largest donation, a cause close to William’s heart, as his late mother, Princess Diana, first introduced him to the charity’s homeless shelters in London when he was a child. The advertisement, airing this week, features Sharon, 73, and Kelly as they browse through old family photos and recall scenes from their iconic £15 million home in Buckinghamshire, where Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, is buried following his death last summer.
In an emotional moment, Kelly is seen weeping as she recalls the terrifying day in 2003 when Ozzy nearly died after crashing his quad bike on the estate, suffering several injuries, including broken ribs and a spinal injury. The Osbournes’ journey from their mansion in Buckinghamshire to Los Angeles is revisited in the footage.
As Kelly reflects on her father’s passing, she reveals she is now focused on charity work, finding it “really fulfilling” as she continues to honor his memory. She also hopes to meet Prince William at a gala in September and has shared her admiration for his efforts in grassroots charity work.
Kelly’s efforts to raise £4.5 million have inspired many, and sources close to the royal family reveal that Prince William, now Centrepoint’s royal patron, has been deeply moved by her determination to tackle homelessness.
The Omaze mansion, which will be revealed next week, offers sprawling open-plan spaces and scenic countryside views. One lucky winner will take home the property and its furnishings, while the proceeds from ticket sales will go to Centrepoint’s vital work supporting young people facing homelessness.
Omaze has already raised over £100 million for charities, including the British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Research UK, and Teenage Cancer Trust. The funds raised by this initiative are expected to have a huge impact on the charity’s work.
