In a heart-wrenching new trailer for Raising Chelsea, Sophie Habboo is seen breaking down in tears as husband Jamie Laing reveals the traumatic birth complications that led to an emergency C-section. What happened during the birth of their son, Ziggy?

Sophie Habboo, 31, and Jamie Laing, 37, are giving fans an intimate look into their lives as new parents in the highly anticipated Disney+ series Raising Chelsea. In a gripping new trailer, Jamie reveals that Sophie’s birth plan had to be completely altered when they were told their baby’s arm was through the cervix, leading to a dramatic emergency C-section.

The couple, who welcomed their son Ziggy in December, filmed their journey for the three-part fly-on-the-wall series, set to premiere on April 2nd. The trailer shows an emotional Sophie struggling with the news, as Jamie reassures her with a comforting hand as she prepares for the birth.

Jamie shares the shocking news with the camera: “Bad news is that the baby, his arm is through the cervix. She needs to have an emergency C-section.” As the couple grips each other’s hands, they share an emotional moment when they finally hear Ziggy’s first cry.

The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the ups and downs they faced leading up to the birth, with Sophie opening up about her anxieties as a first-time mom. “I’ve always wanted to be a mum… pregnancy is a rollercoaster,” Sophie says, fighting back tears. “The excitement of being a mum and the love I feel…”

Despite the pressures of pregnancy, the couple also faces moments of tension. In one scene, Jamie and Sophie argue, with Jamie admitting, “I’m stressed, I’m tired,” while Sophie responds, “You just go behind my back. That’s so unacceptable.”

The trailer also offers a peek at the realities of their relationship, with Jamie joking that Sophie is the “boss” at home, despite running two businesses, including his brand Candy Kittens. “The dynamic between Sophie and I, she’s the boss and I’m the intern,” Jamie admits.
The couple’s parents and close friends, including Jamie’s former Made in Chelsea co-star Oliver Proudlock, also make appearances in the series, with Jamie’s mother, Penny, humorously commenting: “This pregnancy, you’d think the Messiah was arriving.”
As the couple navigates their new life as parents, Sophie reflects on the societal pressure placed on women to “snap back” after childbirth. She opens up about the unrealistic expectations that many mothers face, saying, “If you haven’t snapped back, people are going to say something. If you have snapped back, people are going to say something.”
Since welcoming Ziggy, Sophie has embraced her new role as a mother and has developed a deeper appreciation for herself. “I feel stronger and I have much more respect for myself,” she says. “Ziggy’s my priority and I don’t put as much pressure on what I look like because my brain is thinking about him.”
Raising Chelsea will give fans an honest and emotional glimpse into Jamie and Sophie’s journey to parenthood, and viewers are sure to be captivated by the couple’s ups and downs.
