Stacey Solomon has shared an emotional life update after revealing that her family has grown once again—this time with the arrival of two rescued ponies.
The Sort Your Life Out star announced that she and husband Joe Swash are now fostering Thumbelina and Mermaid, calling the experience the fulfillment of a childhood dream she never imagined would become reality.
Sharing a heartwarming video from their Essex home, Stacey introduced the pair to fans and explained that both ponies have overcome difficult circumstances. Thumbelina was rescued after suffering severe neglect, while Mermaid needed a new home when her previous owner could no longer care for her.
“We are officially pony foster parents,” Stacey wrote, adding that she hopes the two mares will feel safe, happy, and perhaps one day become permanent members of the family.
The TV presenter revealed that she and Joe have carefully prepared their property with dedicated grazing and shelter areas to ensure the ponies settle in comfortably. She also praised Redwings Horse Sanctuary, which will continue supporting the family with expert guidance throughout the fostering journey. Close friend Lianne from Hopefield Animal Sanctuary will also be helping them learn everything they need to become responsible pony carers.
Stacey stressed that fostering rescue animals is a responsibility her family takes seriously.
“We want to be the very best foster parents we can be,” she shared. “Seven-year-old me would never have believed we’d be here. Welcome to the family, girls. We love you so much already.”
The new arrivals join the bustling household Stacey shares with Joe at Pickle Cottage, alongside their children Zachary, Leighton, Rex, Rose, Belle, Joe’s son Harry, as well as dogs Teddy and Peanut and their flock of ducks.
