Vernon Kay has revealed a painful foot condition that has been tormenting him daily – and the way he discovered it is nothing short of bizarre! The I’m A Celebrity star, 47, opened up about his diagnosis during a recent radio show, admitting that the condition is “killing him” and causing him intense discomfort.

In an unexpected twist, Vernon met a foot specialist at a motorway service station, where he was struggling with his electric vehicle charger. The man, who turned out to be a Premier League footballer’s foot expert, quickly examined Vernon’s foot and diagnosed him with Morton’s neuroma, a painful nerve issue between his third and fourth toes.

Speaking about the unusual encounter, Vernon explained, “I was having trouble with the car charger, and this guy steps in to help. After chatting, I realized he was a foot specialist, so I asked him to take a look at my foot.”
The specialist immediately diagnosed Morton’s neuroma after a quick examination in the car park, which Vernon humorously described as “dodgy” but ultimately very helpful. The expert even suggested Vernon book a follow-up appointment, and now he’s receiving steroid treatments to manage the pain.
Morton’s neuroma, a condition involving thickened tissue around the nerve, often leads to sharp, burning pain in the ball of the foot, along with tingling or numbness in the toes. It’s a common issue for athletes like tennis star Serena Williams, and it’s now affecting Vernon Kay’s day-to-day life.
