💔 Travis Kelce Breaks His Silence on Retirement — and the One Thing That Could Pull Him Back Instantly

Travis Kelce may be staring at the biggest decision of his life, but the Kansas City Chiefs icon isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

Speaking on the January 7 episode of the New Heights podcast, the 36-year-old tight end finally opened up about the swirling retirement rumors that followed the Chiefs’ painful 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders — a defeat that abruptly closed the door on a once-glorious season.

“It’s a tough way to go out,” Kelce admitted, his voice heavy with emotion. “Especially when you hold yourself and this team to such a high standard.”

After 13 relentless NFL seasons, Kelce says his body — not his legacy — will make the final call.

“For the next couple weeks, maybe a month, I just want to be a regular human,” he told brother Jason. “Let everything calm down. See how my body feels. Then I’ll figure out what’s next.”

“If I can heal up, rest up, and feel confident I can give it another 18-, 20-, 21-week grind,” Kelce said quietly, “I’d do it in a heartbeat.”

Jason Kelce wasn’t buying it.

“So… you’re not already coming back?” he teased, referencing defensive star Chris Jones’ confident claim that Travis would return next season.

“That’s Chris being Chris — eternally optimistic,” Travis laughed.

Behind the jokes, though, the reality is real. With his contract expired, an engagement to Taylor Swift, and a battered body finally asking for mercy, Kelce is standing at a crossroads.

“I’ve got a lot of love for this game,” he said. “But I’m gonna take some time away, be with my family, clear my head… then I’ll decide.”
