Cristiano Ronaldo has splashed out an eye-watering sum on a dazzling diamond engagement ring for fiancée Georgina Rodriguez — and experts say it could be worth well into the millions.
The couple, together for nearly a decade, confirmed their engagement on Monday evening via Instagram. But as soon as the announcement went live, all eyes were on Georgina’s hand — and the massive, sparkling rock that stole the spotlight. 
A Ring That Stops Traffic
Laura Taylor, engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, described the piece as “extraordinary,” appearing to feature an oval-cut diamond in the 15–20 carat range.
“Oval cuts are known for their brilliant faceting, which maximises sparkle from every angle,” she explained. “The centre stone is flanked by substantial side diamonds, adding even more shine and making the main stone appear even larger. A diamond of this size is almost certainly set in platinum, enhancing its colour and ensuring timeless elegance. If natural and of exceptional quality, its value could easily exceed £1.5 million.”
Olivia Landau, founder of The Clear Cut, added that the central stone could be over 10 carats — “possibly as large as 15” — with side stones of 2–3 carats each, all set in platinum with double claw prongs. “Depending on the quality,” she said, “the ring and centre diamond are likely worth several million dollars.”
A Love Story Nearly a Decade in the Making
Confirming the proposal, the Argentine-Spanish model, 31, posted: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Previously, Georgina had worn a different diamond ring, but sources say they were not engaged at the time. Engagement rumours heated up last month when she shared photos from a bridal-themed dinner, complete with “C ❤️ G” pillows, a live band, and lavish white flowers.
Celebrity friends were quick to congratulate the pair. Lauren Sanchez Bezos wrote: “So happy for you ❤️”, while Taylor Ward added: “Amazing, congratulations ❤️❤️”. Charlotte Tilbury called the news “fabulous” and Piers Morgan chimed in with: “Wonderful news! Many congrats to you both.”

Ronaldo recently admitted he’d been waiting for the “right moment” to propose. Speaking on Netflix, he said: “I always tell her, ‘When we get that click.’ It could be in a year, six months, or a month. I’m 1000% sure it’ll happen.”
The couple, who have been together since 2016, share daughters Alana, 7, and Bella, 2, and Georgina is stepmother to his other three children.
