Hollywood star Michelle Williams has confirmed she has welcomed her fourth child — revealing the little girl was born via a surrogate. The actress, 44, who is married to Hamilton director Thomas Kail, opened up about the challenges of raising three children under the age of five while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Michelle is also mother to daughter Matilda, 19, whom she shared with the late actor Heath Ledger.
“I’m the Adult — But When Do I Find Time for Myself?”
Speaking candidly about her busy household, the Oscar-nominated actress admitted life is full-on.
“Everything’s good and under control. I’m the adult,” Michelle joked, before revealing the constant struggle to balance her career with motherhood.
“I hear a lot of people talking about self-care, and I just wonder, when? I’m a working mom. I already have the guilt, and I don’t want to take more time away from my kids, but I know I need to fill up the tank.”
Finding Humor in Bureaucracy
The star shared a tongue-in-cheek “life hack” about managing her time — by turning dull errands into moments of calm.
She joked: “Visit your local government office. Tell your kids, ‘I’m sorry, honey, but one day you’re going to grow up, pay taxes, and you’ll need a social security number.’ I recommend a midday appointment. It’s crowded, but you’ll get at least an hour of complete silence while you wait in line. Free seating for all!”
Michelle added with a laugh: “Bring a nail file and a to-do list and just check, check, check. Pro tip — don’t double-check your paperwork, or you might have to go back.”
Guarded But Grateful 
The notoriously private actress rarely speaks about her personal life, but her honesty struck a chord with fans. Known for roles in Brokeback Mountain, The Greatest Showman, Venom and Blue Valentine, Williams has managed to keep her growing family largely out of the spotlight.
Michelle welcomed her first child with Kail in 2020, followed by another in 2022, before the arrival of their newest baby daughter via surrogate this year.
While she admits the juggle of motherhood and career is intense, Williams says she wouldn’t change it for the world.
