They’re already one of British TV’s most recognisable father-and-son pairings — and now Roman Kemp and his famous dad Martin Kemp are taking their bond to the next level with their first full series together.
The presenter and the Spandau Ballet legend have secretly been filming a brand-new travel show that will see them journey across Ireland, exploring their family heritage, culture, and personal history along the way. The programme, currently titled Kemps in Ireland, is set to air on More4 next year.
It marks a major new chapter for the Kemps — who viewers are used to seeing together on Celebrity Gogglebox, adverts, and red carpets — but never quite like this.
A New Side of the Kemps
A TV insider revealed the series will offer something far more intimate than audiences have seen before.
“We’re used to Martin and Roman popping up together, but this is completely different,” the source said.
“This is their first proper stand-alone series — just the two of them on the road, talking about family, identity and where they come from.”
The move is also notable because Roman has become increasingly associated with the BBC in recent years, thanks to his role on The One Show and his high-profile presenting career.
Riding High After a Huge Year
The announcement comes after an extraordinary year for both men.
Roman is still basking in the glow of winning Celebrity Race Across the World alongside his sister Harley Moon Kemp, after the pair triumphed in a nail-biting finale that saw them cross the finish line just two minutes ahead of Tyler West and Molly Rainford.
Meanwhile, Martin enjoyed a hugely successful run on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where his warmth and honesty won over viewers nationwide.
Together, they’ve become one of television’s most popular family pairings — blending humour, openness and genuine affection.
A Proven Format — With a Personal Twist
The series is being made by Rock Oyster Media, a production company with a strong track record of hit travelogues, including:
- Taste of Ireland with Dermot O’Leary
- Gary Barlow’s Food & Wine Tour
- Alison Hammond’s Florida Unpacked
- Josie Gibson’s Taste of the West Country

But insiders say Kemps in Ireland will stand apart thanks to its deeply personal focus.
“This isn’t just about scenery and food,” one source said.
“It’s about family roots, generational stories, and the relationship between a father and son who’ve grown up in the spotlight.”
A Journey Beyond Television
For Roman and Martin, the series isn’t just another TV job — it’s a chance to slow down, reflect, and share something meaningful together.
With humour, heart and history at its core, Kemps in Ireland promises to show viewers a more thoughtful, emotional side of two men who already feel like part of the nation’s living rooms.
And for fans of the Kemps, it may be their most revealing journey yet.
