The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie continues to deepen, as an expert shares a chilling theory regarding her fate. According to Michael Gould, a retired Nassau County lieutenant and founder of the NYPD’s canine unit, Nancy likely passed away within the first three days of vanishing. This theory has left her family grappling with a devastating new reality.
Nancy, 84, has now been missing for over a month. Michael Gould, who reviewed the case, analyzed Savannah Guthrie’s recent emotional appeal video, potential abduction scenarios, and the chances of Nancy still being alive.
Gould, who had previously suggested that there was “under a 10% chance” of Nancy surviving, further reinforced his theory. He now believes Nancy’s death occurred within the first 72 hours of her disappearance, suggesting that the case has shifted from a search-and-rescue operation to one focused on recovery.:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():focal(686x410:688x412)/savannah-guthrie-nancy-guthrie-today-show-020326-1-3e7b7a37e291439c8dfd7f7843b15bde.jpg)
A Likely Tragic Outcome
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror US, Gould shared his somber analysis, stating, “Sadly, my assessment is that Nancy likely died within the first 72 hours and will ultimately be recovered. Recovery doesn’t bring closure—it simply removes the uncertainty of not knowing where she is.”
Gould also suggested that Nancy’s body is likely to be found near her home. “Historically, victims of abductions are often found within a relatively close range—two to five miles. Nancy’s body will likely be discovered within a few miles of her residence,” he explained.
Concerns Over Nancy’s Health
The investigation has also been complicated by concerns over Nancy’s health. As the mother of three was known to require daily medication for a heart condition, it has been revealed that her survival was dependent on these medications. Gould expressed his concern, stating, “Nancy was elderly, in poor health, and required life-sustaining medication. It has now been nearly a month without her receiving the necessary treatment.”
Nancy’s disappearance continues to haunt her family, with her daughter Savannah Guthrie publicly offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s return. However, as the days go on, the likelihood of finding Nancy alive becomes increasingly slim.
Authorities have confirmed they are continuing their efforts to recover her, but with each passing day, the hope for a happy ending diminishes.
