The MAFS star, Mel Schilling, has shared a heart-wrenching update on her health after revealing that her cancer has spread to her brain. In a raw and emotional post, the 54-year-old dating coach candidly admits that “her light is starting to fade quickly,” as her battle with cancer becomes more devastating by the day.

Known for her role on both the Australian and UK versions of Married at First Sight, Mel has always been a beacon of positivity. However, in her most recent Instagram post, she opened up about the harsh realities of her illness, explaining that after being diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023, the tumor was successfully removed. Yet, in late February 2024, she discovered that the cancer had spread to her lungs, and just when she thought there was hope through a groundbreaking clinical trial, the devastating news came that her cancer had reached her brain.

“I don’t know how long I have left,” Mel said, her words filled with heartbreaking honesty. Despite undergoing 16 rounds of chemotherapy and receiving radiotherapy for her brain, her doctors have now stated that there’s nothing more they can do.

Despite the uncertainty of her prognosis, Mel’s family remains her strength. She shared a poignant image with her husband, Gareth, and their daughter, Maddie, 10, to let her followers know that she is still fighting. “I’m still here, still fighting, and surrounded by the most incredible love,” she expressed, her gratitude for her loved ones palpable.

Mel also took the opportunity to encourage her followers to take their health seriously: “If something doesn’t feel right, please get it checked out. It might just save your life.”

As the MAFS family rallies behind Mel, the entire world continues to send their love and support to the brave star. Her journey serves as a powerful reminder that even the strongest among us can face tough battles, but with love, hope, and strength, we continue to fight on.
