Savannah Guthrie is reportedly “livid” after false reports claimed her brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, could be a suspect in the investigation into her mother, Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.
This explosive claim was made by journalist Ashleigh Banfield, who speculated that Cioni was somehow involved in the February 1 kidnapping case in Tucson, Arizona. The accusation left Savannah fuming, with former NBC colleague Megyn Kelly revealing the emotional response.
“I’ve confirmed Savannah is absolutely livid about the false claim and she does not suspect her brother-in-law in any way,” Kelly shared during The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM.
The tension comes after Pima County Sheriff’s Department cleared Savannah’s family from any involvement in the case, dismissing the accusations. Despite this, Banfield doubled down on her reporting, citing a law enforcement source suggesting Cioni could be a suspect, even after the sheriff confirmed there were no persons of interest.
Kelly added, “Can you blame her? Of course, she loves her sister and brother-in-law, and she truly doesn’t believe they had anything to do with it.”
Tommaso Cioni and his wife, Annie Guthrie, were the last to see Nancy before she vanished, having dinner with her the night before her disappearance. The claim that Cioni could be involved has left fans and followers stunned, especially given the lack of evidence or credible leads linking him to the case.
This latest drama has sparked public outcry, and with Savannah now reportedly considering legal action, it’s clear this scandal is far from over. Stay tuned as this emotional and ongoing investigation unfolds.
