Sarah Greene has opened up about a shocking new chapter in her love life, revealing she is now dating none other than Robb Gravett, a close friend of her late husband, Mike Smith. The former Blue Peter and Saturday Superstore presenter, who was married to BBC’s Breakfast Time host Mike from 1989 until his tragic death in 2014, is now in a relationship with Mike’s longtime friend – and ex-British Touring Car champion – Robb, 65.

In a heartfelt interview on the My Time Capsule podcast, Sarah shared how she believes Mike is pulling the strings from beyond the grave, orchestrating this surprising romance. “I sort of know Mike is pulling so many strings in my life,” Sarah admitted. “He’s undoubtedly been responsible for me meeting my beloved, who was one of his oldest friends.”

Sarah, now 64, explained that Robb had been reaching out to her, initially thinking he was simply being kind. But soon after, she received a blunt message that made it clear Robb had romantic intentions. “For God’s sake, Greeno, Robb is trying to make contact with you because he actually wants to take you out, not just because he’s being kind. So will you just get off your a**e and go answer the phone next time it rings!” Sarah laughed, recalling the moment that set the wheels of their new relationship in motion. The situation certainly felt unusual to Sarah at first. “I remember being terribly worried and saying to Robb, ‘Isn’t it strange coming into the house and seeing all these pictures everywhere of Mike?’” she recalled. Robb responded, “No, no, it’s not strange. It’d be strange if they weren’t there. And remember, I love him too.”

Robb and Mike were once the masterminds behind the Trakstar team that triumphed in the 1990 British Touring Car Championship. Sarah and Robb are also involved in a business venture together, Z Charge, a land transportation firm, while Sarah continues to work with Mike’s company, Flying TV. Despite her deep love for Mike, Sarah is convinced that Mike is helping her from the afterlife, especially when it comes to work. “Taking on his company, there was no doubt that’s what he would have wanted me to do. Some mornings, I’d wake up almost with a tap on the shoulder saying ‘Right, have you checked the…'” she said, sharing her eerie sense of his presence.

Sarah and Mike’s love story began in 1989, when they married shortly after surviving a harrowing helicopter crash. Both of them were injured, but their bond grew stronger in the aftermath, until Mike’s tragic passing in 2014.
