Gemma Collins, 45, has revealed the toll her IVF journey has taken on her relationship with fiancé Rami Hawash, admitting it left her “broken.” The reality star, known for her larger-than-life persona, opened up about how her dreams of becoming a mother impacted her bond with Rami, as their relationship “took a hit” during the emotionally exhausting process.

In 2020, Gemma rekindled her romance with businessman Rami after her split from James ‘Arg’ Argent. The couple got engaged in 2024, and they’re planning to marry later this year. However, their path to parenthood hasn’t been easy. Gemma has been open about her IVF struggles, revealing how the emotional weight of it all affected her relationship with Rami.

Speaking on her new Sky series, Four Weddings And A Baby, Gemma confessed, “My relationship was obviously taking a bit of a hit, I was trying to have a baby – my whole world just fell apart. Because I was going through so much trauma and struggles, there was no performative person there.”
Gemma, who is already a stepmother to Rami’s 7-year-old son Tristan, has also considered surrogacy and fostering, sharing how her own mother was fostered as a child. With her low AMH hormone levels and a diagnosis of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Gemma’s struggle to conceive has been deeply personal.
The former TOWIE star has also faced three devastating miscarriages, with the first occurring in 2012. She didn’t publicly speak about her first loss until 2020, revealing the pain she felt when the baby “died in front of her” after giving birth at home. She suffered two more miscarriages in 2020, one during the COVID-19 pandemic and another after her brief relationship with James.
Gemma also recently revealed she had abandoned her plans to relocate to Dubai amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, saying, “I’d miss the UK too much.” She joked about how tempting the idea of living in Dubai was, especially during the winter months, but in the end, her heart remains in the UK.
As for her upcoming wedding plans, Gemma is looking forward to multiple celebrations: one in the UK, one abroad, and a more intimate affair with close family and friends. She plans to wear several different wedding dresses in true GC style.
Gemma also paid tribute to her fiancé, Rami, calling him her “forever love.” In a heartfelt social media post, she gushed about his unwavering support throughout her career and personal journey. “Rami would always say to me, ‘You’re gonna make it, you will be successful,’ and he supported me every step of the way.”
Gemma’s honesty and vulnerability continue to resonate with her fans as she opens up about her personal struggles while keeping her relationship with Rami strong. Despite everything, the couple is more united than ever, and Gemma remains hopeful for their future.
