Jordan Brook of TOWIE reveals setback in his meningitis battle, admits he’s feeling frustrated

TOWIE star Jordan Brook admitted he’s “feeling frustrated” amid a “setback” in his meningitis health battle.

The reality favourite faced a terrifying battle to survive for his unborn child – as the virus attacked his brain, leaving him unable to speak or walk.

The 31-year-old barber shared a new update as he revealed the last few days had been some of the “hardest” since leaving hospital.

Jordan said in a new Instagram clip: “This recovery is a mad old thing that I’ve never experienced.

“The ups and downs are just mad.

“Sadly a couple of setbacks over Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

“Naturally I’m expecting myself to be able to do things I used to do. It is going to be a long time until I can do that.

“If I’m honest with you, Sunday was hard. Probably the hardest day I’ve had since I’ve been out of hospital.

“I think frustration is maybe kicking in to want to be back where I used to be and be as strong as I used to be.

“Yesterday I had a bit of a bad day. You do look back at photos of yourself from before and photos of yourself now.

“It’s mad how quickly your body can change over the course of two months of not being very well. Naturally you want to start getting back.

Jordan said he’s returned to the gym but admitted: “I’m not going to be able to do much at the start.

“This is going to be a very slow burner but I can’t wait to get started and get cracking with it.”

The reality star said he’ll be working with a close fitness pal on a training plan designed for his recovery.

He insisted it will be “slow” but it’s a “postive step” in the right direction.

Jordan captioned the post: “I’m not going to lie, there is really hard, tough days and really good days.

“Having a professional on side helping me on this journey is exactly what I need.

“As much as the living off of biscuits and any thing else I could get my hands on has got me through.

“It’s time for positive, healthy, change. Slowly but surely I will get there.

“One small step every day! Mindset on point! Always remember … Never Give Up.”

Jordan recently spoke to The Sun about the harrowing ordeal.

“If I hadn’t trusted my gut, I’d be dead,” Jordan exclusively told us.

“I’d gone from filming TV shows, running my barber business and preparing to be a dad to fighting for my life overnight.

“The viruses were causing my brain to swell at a hugely dangerous rate and it was causing changes to my personality.

“There were times in hospital I didn’t even know who I was.”

Meanwhile, his pregnant partner Sophie Kasaei, 36, was helpless by his bedside, crying herself to sleep every night not knowing if Jordan would ever come home.

Every time she visited, they would talk about their unborn child they call their “miracle baby” after a gruelling two-year IVF struggle to conceive.

Jordan says this fuelled his fight for survival as he battled the top one per cent of worst cases of viral meningitis and encephalitis that his doctor had ever seen.

“We have gone to hell and back trying to have a baby and suddenly there was a real possibility I was going to die before my son was born,” says Jordan.

“He saved my life because becoming a father was the one thing I held onto and never forgot – even when the virus was actively changing who I was.”

Before doctors were able to diagnose meningitis, Jordan was told there was a chance it could be brain cancer.

He describes the pain as being like a “hot corkscrew being twisted into his brain”.

It left Jordan unable to walk and forced to use a wheelchair, as well as “acute memory loss”.
