Tess Daly made a glamorous return to social media this week, flaunting her wedding ring just days after announcing her shock split from husband Vernon Kay.
The 57-year-old presenter revealed last week that she and Vernon, 52, had decided to go their separate ways after 25 years of marriage. A heartfelt joint statement confirmed that the decision was agonising but mutual, and that they remained devoted to their daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
Just seven days later, Tess returned to Instagram, treating fans to a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from a mysterious new project. She looked radiant in a sleek black jumpsuit with sheer sleeves, cinched at the waist, her platinum wedding band and dazzling diamond engagement ring catching the light in every photo. Captioning the post “The glam before the go,” Tess quickly received love from celebrity friends including Claudia Winkleman and Motsi Mabuse, while Lizzie Cundy commented simply: “Gorgeous.”

Seven days on and Tess was ready to make her grand return, taking to Instagram to share a slew of dazzling behind the scenes snaps while filming a mystery project
Insiders claim the couple marked their split with a glass of champagne at their Beaconsfield mansion, keeping things “classy” despite their romantic parting. A source told The Mirror: “After releasing the statement, Vernon and Tess took a moment to toast each other and their futures. There’s no fallout—just a gradual growing apart. They’ve vowed to stay friends and to handle any future interviews with grace. It’s all about respect and their family.”
Tess and Vernon’s love story began in 2001, with Vernon proposing on Christmas Day the following year. Recalling their first meeting, he told The Telegraph: “She was independent and confident, and I was instantly drawn to her.” They married in Horwich, near Vernon’s Lancashire roots, the next September.
Friends say the pair had already been living increasingly separate lives before making their split public. “Without meaning to, they were leading separate lives,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Different interests, different routines. They acknowledged it and decided life would be better apart.”
The couple, estimated to be worth £10million, were last seen hosting The One Show together in February and are still active as food ambassadors for Marks & Spencer. Despite going their separate ways, they remain under one roof for the sake of family and are determined to navigate this next chapter with dignity.
