The Loose Women star explained that doctors had to act quickly after discovering gallstones had severely damaged her pancreas, forcing her to undergo a complicated operation.

“I was petrified in intensive care. I thought I was going to die,” Linda admitted. “I had to have most of my pancreas removed because there were two tumours in a difficult position. I also had a brain scan.”

During this frightening ordeal, Linda credited her friends and loved ones for their unwavering support, helping her stay strong through the crisis. “Seeing my kids’ faces got me through it. They were at the hospital all the time. They’ve been amazing,” she told The Sun.

The actress had previously taken a break from Loose Women after doctors discovered a small cyst on her pancreas, located behind her stomach. Linda has long been candid about her personal struggles, including a mental breakdown she detailed in her 2024 memoir.

She revealed that her children became her carers during her lowest moments, when she felt unable to care for herself. Linda also battled alcohol dependency, depression, and OCD, leading to three stints in rehab.

Speaking on Loose Women in March, Linda reflected: “My children were my carers when I was mentally ill. There was a point when I got so low I couldn’t be left alone. I wasn’t allowed to see my grandchildren until I was better. It was four years ago now, and they still say, ‘Mum, I’m so glad you are better; we never thought we’d get you back.’”

Linda’s mental health struggles began in part after being prescribed medication to treat depression, which had adverse effects. “It heightened it, so I had to go into three different establishments, and it was the worst time in my life. I completely ruined my family’s lives,” she said.

Recalling one low point, Linda described breaking down on a trip with fellow Loose Women colleagues in Ibiza, requiring Stacey to take her home and into The Priory. She added, “I had really bad depression and was self-harming, cleaning obsessively and washing my sheets every night.”

Linda returned to the show in January 2020, after a year-long hiatus.

She has also shared updates on her longtime friend and co-star Pauline Quirke, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2021. Linda continues to visit her friend, recently describing their last meeting as full of laughter and joy. “We met about three or four weeks ago at a restaurant. She was just giggling, really enjoying it. I left there happy because she was happy, and I knew they were looking after her really well,” she revealed.

Through her candid reflections, Linda Robson continues to inspire fans with her resilience, demonstrating how love, family, and friendship can carry someone through life’s toughest challenges.
