Mark and Roxanne Hoyle, better known as LadBaby and LadBaby Mum, have become household names in the UK thanks to their hilarious, chaotic, and heartwarming content. From sharing parenting hacks on YouTube to topping the Christmas charts with five consecutive No.1 singlesâincluding a 2021 collaboration with Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeranâthe couple has captured the hearts of millions. Yet behind the camera, life is much more grounded and, according to them, refreshingly normal.
From YouTube Hacks to Chart-Topping Hits
Their journey began simply: a dad sharing parenting tips, a mum sharing her daily life. âIn the beginning, it was just dad hacks and parenting,â Mark says. âNow, it could be a prank, a day out, a challenge, or launching new things. Weâre lucky to have an audience that lets us try different things and enjoys following it.â
Roxanne reflects on the fan response over the years: âA lot of it is so positive. People come up to me saying, âThanks to you, I could feed my kids,â or a nurse will tell me, âThanks for getting me through Covid.â Weâve been very lucky to have such a lovely and diverse group following usâfrom 90-year-olds to teenagers.â
Their bestselling autobiography also gave fans a deeper, more intimate look into their journey. âThey got our hearts in that book,â Roxanne says. âYou canât get that across in a Reel, Story, or a seven-minute video of us making a song with Elton John. That book showed the real journey.â
Love, Laughter, and Life Together
For Mark and Roxanne, working together online has strengthened their bond. âBeing online together makes us closer. We create, parent, and attend events together. Weâre lucky to be best mates and truly love each other,â Roxanne shares. The coupleâs connection shines through, even amid the whirlwind of fame and public attention.
Some of their starstruck moments have been unforgettable. Mark recalls: âWe were once at a football ground hospitality suite, drinks flowing, when Wayne Rooney started singingâFrank Sinatra and then Sweet Caroline. We just sat there thinking, âWayne Rooney is singing!ââ Roxanne adds with a laugh, âHeâs got the voice of an angel.â
Parenthood in the Spotlight
Despite their fame, Mark and Roxanne are committed to giving their children, Phoenix, 10, and Kobe, seven, a sense of normalcy. âItâs very normal at home. When we started, we wanted to do school runs, pick-ups, and drop-offsâsomething I never got to do in my old full-time job,â Mark explains.
Their children have grown up alongside the coupleâs rising fame. âPhoenix was only one when our first video went viral,â Mark says. âFrom as early as he can remember, heâs used to people talking to Mum and Dad. Weâve always been honest with themâtheyâre cool and really chill about it.â
When asked if their kids might follow in their footsteps, Mark jokes, âHeâs only 10, but Phoenix currently says he wants to be an actor. With my loud voice and Roxâs dramatic flair, heâs perfectly placed to be a drama boyâbut it will probably change next week!â
Cherishing the Simple Things
Even with their success, the couple values memories over materialism. âOur biggest purchase is our house,â Mark admits. âWe moved to Nottingham during lockdown, wanting a dream home for the boys with nice bedrooms.â Roxanne emphasizes the importance of experiences: âI love holidays and moments that create memories. You canât take money with you, but you can carry your childhood memories forever. Iâm genuinely grateful for that.â
Recognition and Awards
The couple is no stranger to accolades, having won Broadcaster of the Year at last yearâs TRIC Awards. Looking ahead to this year, Roxanne shares with excitement: âOh, donât! Iâll cry like an absolute baby if we win. But honestly, being nominated is already such an honorâthere are so many amazing names on the list. Just being there will be a celebration.â
From viral YouTube videos to Christmas No.1s and TRIC nominations, Mark and Roxanne Hoyle have built a brand that is entertaining, inspiring, and deeply relatable. Behind the glitz and sausage rolls, they remain devoted parents, best friends, and a couple navigating the highs and lows of fame with honesty and heart.
