Rebekah Vardy Opens Up About “Starting Again Emotionally” as She Makes Bold Move Abroad After Coleen Rooney Feud

Rebekah Vardy is turning the page on her life — this time in sunny Italy. The mum-of-five is preparing to launch her brand-new family reality show, The Vardys, on ITV, offering fans an intimate look at life with her footballer husband, Jamie, and their children. The series premieres Tuesday, June 2, just after the couple celebrated a decade of marriage.

Married in 2016 after first meeting in 2014, Rebekah and Jamie share daughter Sofia, 12, son Finlay, nine, and youngest daughter Olivia Grace, six. Rebekah is also mum to 23-year-old Megan, from a previous relationship with Mark Godden, whom Jamie legally adopted, and 16-year-old Taylor, her son with footballer Luke Foster.

A “Tough” but Exciting Family Move

Speaking to ITV about the new series, Rebekah revealed the family’s move to Italy wasn’t an easy decision. “Moving abroad is huge. For years, people have judged us based on online stories or press reports,” she said. “This show gives people the chance to see the reality for themselves — the highs, the struggles, the humour, the madness of family life, and the challenge of a completely new chapter.”

The ITV series arrives almost six years after the infamous Wagatha Christie drama between Rebekah and Coleen Rooney, which saw the pair clash over Coleen’s Instagram post accusing Rebekah’s account of leaking private stories to the press.

Despite the challenges, Rebekah says the move became a shared family adventure rather than just Jamie’s career decision. “We knew there would be tough days, culture shocks, and stressful moments. But we also saw it as a chance to grow together, experience something new, and make memories we’d never have otherwise.”Rebekah Vardy on the red carpetRebekah admitted making a move to Italy wasn’t easy (Credit: Splashnews.com)

“Starting Again Emotionally”

The Vardys star admits the hardest part of relocating was leaving behind their life in Leicester, a home they’d built over more than a decade. “It’s about starting again emotionally. Moving is a major change, but moving abroad? Honestly, nobody prepared me for that,” she said. “Home isn’t just bricks and mortar — it’s wherever my favourite people are.”

Through The Vardys, viewers will see the family navigating new experiences, challenges, and the joy of building a fresh chapter together — a move Rebekah describes as both emotional and transformative.

✨ Could this bold Italian adventure mark the ultimate fresh start for the Vardys? Tune in Tuesday to find out.
