Kelly Clarkson, 44, was visibly emotional while reflecting on the upcoming conclusion of The Kelly Clarkson Show later this year. The singer and talk show host was moved to tears when Rita Wilson, 69, praised Clarkson during a guest appearance on Wednesday’s episode.
“I just want to say one thing before we go,” Wilson said warmly. “Thank you for the years you’ve dedicated to your show. You’ve truly changed the game in daytime television.”
Clarkson, who will have hosted the show for seven seasons, embraced Wilson while expressing gratitude for her heartfelt words. The announcement of her show ending sparked speculation that Pink might take over the slot, though she later debunked the rumors.

Wilson also lauded Clarkson’s musical talents, her incredible band, and the joy she brought to daytime TV audiences. Clarkson, who debuted her talk show in 2019, made the personal decision to step back after the passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025, to focus on raising their two children, River Rose (12) and Remy Alexander (10).
“This was not an easy decision, but stepping away allows me to prioritize my kids,” Clarkson shared in February. “This isn’t goodbye — I’ll still be making music, performing, and appearing on The Voice from time to time… you never know where I might show up next.”
Fans were deeply touched by the emotional moment, marking the end of an era for Clarkson’s daytime television journey while celebrating her enduring impact on audiences and music lovers alike.
