The long-running program has remained one of America’s most familiar evening traditions for decades, giving loyal fans their regular dose of puzzles, prizes, Vanna White, and new host Ryan Seacrest.

However, many viewers across the United States are now facing a major disruption due to a scheduling conflict with the World Cup.

The popular tournament is scheduled to begin on June 11 and will air on television through July 19, with many games taking place during the evening hours.

As a result, Wheel of Fortune will be unable to air in certain markets while World Cup coverage occupies its regular time slot.

Fans in Syracuse, New York, who normally watch the show at 7 p.m., are among those expected to be affected.

Viewers in Cincinnati, where Wheel of Fortune also airs on weeknights at 7 p.m., will face the same frustrating interruption.

Kansas City fans who usually tune in at 7:30 p.m. will also be left without the show for weeks.

Even viewers in Beaumont, Texas, where the program airs slightly earlier at 6:30 p.m., will not avoid the shake-up.

The World Cup will affect these areas and others as the tournament is played across 16 cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

This year’s competition marks the 23rd edition of the tournament and is making history as the first World Cup to include 48 teams and three host countries.

For many Wheel of Fortune fans, the temporary disappearance of the show will be a frustrating break from a familiar nightly routine.

The series first premiered in 1975 on NBC, originally hosted by Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford, before becoming one of the most recognizable game shows in television history.

Now, with the World Cup taking over evening schedules, viewers in affected cities will have to wait weeks before returning to their usual puzzle-solving tradition.
