Katie Price has revealed that her “eyes have been opened” after confronting her husband Lee Andrews in Dubai’s Al Awir Central Prison and meeting his ex, Dina Taji. The former glamour model, 48, returned from Dubai earlier this week following three visits to the prison, where she spoke to Lee from half a mile away over a barbed wire wall.
Lee, 43, who is being held on fraud allegations, requires £140,000 to secure his release. Katie, who married Lee in January after a whirlwind romance, said her goal was to “help Lee,” and he eventually admitted to having a travel ban.
During a candid interview, Katie described how the meeting with Dina, who had previously warned her about Lee’s conman tactics, further opened her eyes. “I just need some time to think,” Katie admitted. “I still cannot end things with Lee until I’ve spoken to him, but that was a lot.”
Since the marriage, two of Lee’s exes have warned Katie about his past scams. Crystal Janke claimed he tricked her into investing £123,000 with promises of a £1 million return, while ex-fiancée Alana Percival also issued public warnings. Katie had reportedly considered paying £6,500 for Lee’s release, only to learn he actually needed £140,000, a sum she recognizes would be reckless to pay herself.
Over the weekend, Katie surprised fans by putting her wedding ring back on and posting on Instagram: “I love @wesleeeandrews,” signaling a dramatic 180 in her feelings. Friends reveal that while Katie presents a strong front, she is emotionally shattered by Lee’s actions.
A close source told the Daily Mail: “Lee is stuck inside that hellhole of a prison. And unless she or someone else stumps tens of thousands of pounds to get him out, he won’t be released any time soon. Katie is so confused, but ultimately it looks like she will be heading to the divorce court once again. However, she will always try to cash in on the drama surrounding her hectic lifestyle.”
