Linda Robson has opened up about her long-time friend and former co-star, Pauline Quirke, revealing that the beloved actress is “doing really well” despite living with dementia.
The 68-year-old Loose Women star recently faced a frightening health scare of her own, admitting she feared for her life after surgery to remove pancreatic tumours caused by gallstones. She spent nearly two weeks in intensive care, forcing her to step back from work as she focused entirely on recovery.
Now, Linda says she is looking forward to brighter days ahead and hints at exciting projects: “Touch wood, we have come to the end of my illness. Me and Lesley [Joseph] are planning to work together on something in the next few months. I’m seeing her soon, and we’ll be discussing some TV offers we’ve been sent.”
The pair, famed for their chemistry on Birds of a Feather, have also worked together on shows like Celebrity Coach Trip and The Good Ship Murder. While fans may hope for a Birds of a Feather revival, Linda has previously clarified that this isn’t expected due to Pauline’s diagnosis.
Reflecting on her lifelong friendship with Pauline, Linda adds: “I’m going to see Pauline soon too, but at the moment she’s been taken on a trip away. She’s doing really well.”
Pauline, 66, retired from acting after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2021. The star first captured hearts as Sharon Theodopolopodous in Birds of a Feather, a hit BBC sitcom later revived on ITV. Her career also includes appearances in Junket 89, You Must Be Joking!, and Shine on Harvey Moon.
