The View co-host Ana Navarro has shared the highs, lows, and unexpected pain from partying at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last week. At 52, the political strategist and commentator revealed via Instagram that a night of celebration with top Democrats left her with painful injuries, including blisters and a lost toenail. 
“Y’all the DNC just about did me in,” she wrote alongside a photo of her injured left foot. Reflecting on the experience, Navarro admitted, “If I had any sense, I’d realize I’m too old and tired to be going out until the wee hours of dawn. But of course, I tried to keep up with the cool-kids. For four consecutive nights… partied like a member of The Rolling Stones.”
Navarro, a lifelong Republican turned single-issue voter focused on seeing Donald Trump ousted from the party, hosted the second night of the convention. Her pivot shocked some fans, particularly Republicans who criticized her social media support for the Harris-Walz ticket, claiming her ancestors would be “turning in their graves.” 
Despite the backlash, Navarro’s Instagram feed flooded with snapshots of the DNC, including moments with Vice President Kamala Harris and her dog ChaCha, as well as a lighthearted encounter with Barack Obama. She joked that her cheek kiss with the former president occurred while Michelle Obama was on stage, sparking laughs and some criticism from fans.
Navarro also defended young delegates during the event. After Republicans mocked Gus Walz, she shared a photo with the child and his mother, writing: “So happy to be telling @gwenwalz and Gus in person how much I appreciate them. If you come for them: 1. You are an a**-wipe; 2. You gotta go through me!” 
Her Instagram posts revealed the toll of four nights of partying—blisters, cuts, and a lost toenail—but Navarro insisted she would do it all again, perhaps in more comfortable footwear. “#yolo,” she added, showing her trademark humor and resilience.
The DNC itself featured emotional speeches and high-profile appearances. Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the nomination, making history as the first biracial woman to receive a major party’s presidential nomination. The Obamas electrified the crowd, and former President Bill Clinton delivered an enthusiastic keynote. Throughout, Navarro did not shy away from criticizing Donald Trump. During her speech, she warned about the dangers of communist-style governance, drawing from her own experience fleeing Nicaragua as a child. “I fled communism from Nicaragua when I was eight years old,” she told the audience. “I don’t take it lightly. And let me tell you what communist dictators do… They attack the free press.”
Trump, meanwhile, continued his campaign trail with a rally in North Carolina, giving his first outdoor event since surviving an assassination attempt. Following Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s suspension of his campaign, Trump’s strategy shifted, and Navarro’s political pivot played into the national conversation.
