Reality star Gemma Collins has unveiled a fresh-faced new look while opening up about her ongoing struggles with perimenopause, in a candid and emotional update shared with fans.

The 45-year-old, who has previously spoken openly about her desire to become a mother, revealed she has been experiencing difficult symptoms linked to the transitional phase before menopause, including memory issues and frequent forgetfulness.
Taking to social media, Gemma admitted she has been struggling with everyday tasks, even losing important items such as her car keys multiple times in a short space of time.

“Perimenopause sucks!” she wrote. “I’ve lost two sets of car keys in one week and I have no idea where I put them. I can’t remember anything — it’s bizarre.”

She continued in her usual outspoken style, describing the experience as disorienting and unusual for her normally sharp mind.

“It’s like an out-of-body experience. My mind is usually very sharp. Is there any help for this? Can someone with witchy powers help me find my keys?” she joked.
The TV personality added that the situation had become particularly stressful, writing: “Two cars, one week. Keys lost in my own home. Send help. Behind these glasses I’m having a moment!”
Alongside her honest health update, Gemma also shared a “filter-free” video showing her glowing complexion, explaining it was the result of a recent facial treatment rather than digital editing.
The former TOWIE star also confirmed she first began experiencing perimenopause symptoms last year, after noticing changes such as fatigue, irritation, and general feelings of being “off.”
She revealed that she sought medical advice after becoming concerned about her symptoms, explaining that speaking to professionals helped ease her worries.
“I’ve been feeling a bit off lately and I knew something wasn’t right with my hormones,” she previously said. “I’m so glad I spoke to a doctor — I finally feel listened to and supported.”
Gemma also encouraged other women to seek help if they experience similar symptoms, stressing the importance of not ignoring the signs.
“Ladies, if something doesn’t feel right, listen to your body. There is help out there and you absolutely can feel better,” she said.
According to health guidance from the NHS, perimenopause refers to the stage when a woman begins experiencing menopause-related symptoms while still having periods. It ends when a person has gone 12 months without a period, marking the start of menopause.
Common symptoms can include mood changes, memory problems, hot flushes, sleep disturbance, and physical discomfort such as headaches, muscle aches, and reduced libido.
Gemma has been particularly open about her personal journey toward motherhood, previously sharing her heartbreak over multiple miscarriages and fertility struggles.
She has spoken in the past about experiencing three pregnancy losses, including one in 2012 and two further miscarriages in 2020, describing them as deeply emotional and life-changing experiences.
The reality star has also previously revealed she was once advised to terminate a pregnancy due to complications and has been candid about her long-term fertility challenges.
Gemma has been engaged to businessman Rami Hawash since last year, and the couple have discussed plans for marriage, including having multiple wedding celebrations in different locations.
Despite her struggles, she has remained hopeful about becoming a mother, exploring different options such as surrogacy and fostering in the future.
She has also been open about her health journey, including weight loss and lifestyle changes aimed at improving her overall wellbeing and fertility prospects.
Gemma, who has reduced her dress size significantly in recent years, previously claimed improvements in her health have made her feel more positive about her future plans.
She also shared that she continues to work closely with health professionals to manage conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which affects fertility and hormone balance.
Medical guidance states that PCOS cannot be fully cured, but symptoms can often be managed through lifestyle changes, weight management, and medical support.
Despite the challenges, Gemma says she is determined to stay positive, using her platform to speak openly about women’s health issues and encourage others to seek help when needed.
